Actually he likes anything with a lot of action, and after reading the first five issues of Deadpool, I think that blend of comedy and explosions (not to mention Skrulls and zombies!) might be right up his alley. I'm going to recommend it. Good pick!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-919949189824075044.post-15410289206169155252008-12-18T00:32:00.000-08:002008-12-18T00:32:00.000-08:00Great end of the year list. Lots of fun stuff that I'll need to catch up on.

Chris Bachalo is a pretty great artist.

Can't wait to see what 2009 brings!Adrian Bhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12521375077043067827noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-919949189824075044.post-55955988355578898362008-12-17T22:08:00.000-08:002008-12-17T22:08:00.000-08:00"I’ve tried the kid comics of Spider-Man and Hulk ..."I’ve tried the kid comics of Spider-Man and Hulk and Avengers and Batman and Shazam and things like that but most of them are pretty boring. I like reading about the real characters that are in the regular comics."

I'm glad you said that, because that's what bothers me about the kid comics too. I started reading superhero comics when I was six, and they were the same comics 16 year olds were reading and 26 year olds were reading, and that was fine with me.

When they try to make superhero comics for kids these days, a lot of the time it's like they assume "kids don't like action, they don't like anything scary or dangerous, the art can't be too complicated or interesting, and we can't put in any word or idea that some kid might not know because kids hate learning new words." I don't think any of that is true.

The companies should stop trying to make separate lines of comics for different age groups and just concentrate on making better comics that more people can enjoy.Richardhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01714171897239398438noreply@blogger.com
